     Voodoo Burnt Rubber 2017

The Pre-party at Spoke & Dagger Co., July 7th

Voodoo & Burnt Rubber kicked off with a pre-party right here at Spoke & Dagger Co. and like any good party we had beer, wine and hand rolled cigars from Buffalo Cigars. VBRV secured so many rad vendors to supply tons of amazing raffles. Raffles from some local companies, and some big hitters in the motorcycle world.  If you attended you might also remember our kickass VBRV x S&D photo booth. We absolutely loved to see the community come together. All different types of bikes, ages, male or female, human or canine attended to celebrate!  There was even many out of town guests who rode out for the event! Overall, it was a fantastic night for a fantastic cause and we aren't sure that Hertel has ever seen this many bikes lining the street.

We are so thankful to Chris & Joanne Galley of VBRV (& Devil Chicken Design) who had asked us to host the pre-party. We would love to every year!

We had a poster board where we wrote all the raffle winners,
once Jodi was done writing them she turned around to
everyone staring and thought it was funny so she snapped a photo!

THE MAIN EVENT: Voodoo & Burnt Rubber V, July 8th

The main event was an amazing show room of featured builders and artists.  Many were local Buffalo or Rochester builders, others were well known names in the industry! This is the most bikes/cars/artists we've seen yet. Needless to say we were impressed. The most attended VBR that we've been to yet. If the featured custom bikes or cars weren't enough, hopefully you didn't miss your chance to browse the closed down street that was packed with bikes and hot rods for the everyday guests attending. Spoke & Dagger Co. had a vendor booth, where they featured some new designs, and photo booth. Other rad local and traveling companies had vendor spots so we hope you were able to check out their product! S&D is the exclusive dealer local for Indian Larry.  We had their rep, Byran, join us in our booth to showcase some new Indian Larry apparel and parts. Lake Effect Ice Cream created special flavors for the day including PBR and Burnt Rubber flavors. I hope you had a chance to try them because they were unreal!

We are SO thankful to all the organizers who put on VBRV.  They do such amazing things for this city in bringing the motorcycle community together.  We are blessed to be asked to be a part of it and made great friends in the process. It is definitely an event you do not want to miss out on next year.

Incase you haven't heard of VBR, here is what it's all about...

"The Voodoo and Burnt Rubber idea started when Broken Sprocket Garage owner David Roberts approached local artist Christopher Galley with the idea of using his East Aurora garage space as an impromptu art gallery.  One thing led to another and we had a band booked, a food truck and a crowd of 250 people show up.  The next year we invited more artists to jump on board for the show and we drew a crowd of 500.  In 2015 we added more artists and invited some local builders to show their bikes at the show.  The crowd grew to 700 with bikes and hot rods covering three blocks of picturesque, suburban neighborhood streets.  You can check out features about VBR events on Chop Cult.

The shows have always been great at Broken Sprocket Garage, but we've outgrown our original space.  For this summer's event we've secured a much larger warehouse space in downtown Buffalo right in the heart of the West Side!  The venue is an phenomenal art space.

For VBR V we added more bike builders and artists and that's not only change that happened in 2017.  One of the hallmarks of our show has been the charity raffle that has raised over $10,000.00 in our previous four years.  Due to the increase in size of the show, weren’t  able to hold our raffle at the show. The raffles took place the night before at the pre-party.  VBR sponsor Spoke & Dagger Co. (1434 Hertel Ave.)  hosted the pre-party on the Friday night before the show.  We had some great packages available at the party.  If you missed out this year you won't want to next summer.  We will see you next year in sunny Buffalo!" - Voodoo Burnt Rubber
